Application
File check before a phase starts
Flagging deviations and risks
Who it is for
Site managers and work planners at an infrastructure contractor.
The problem in the work
A phase regularly started with an incomplete file. A missing inspection report only surfaced during execution, and then the work stood still while the crew was already on site.
What we designed and built
A check that puts the file next to the requirements of the phase and reports what is missing, with the source alongside it. And the work process around it: who gets the alert, who releases the phase and at what moment that happens.
What changed in the work
Releasing a phase has become an explicit step, with a name under it, instead of a tacit assumption.
Result
Across the first twelve phases the number of stoppages caused by a missing document fell from nine to two.
What this has to do with our services
This application comes out of the route we walk on every assignment: first decide which use case is worth it, then design the work, the roles and the decisions around it, and only after that build, test and measure.
