The problem in the work
Every quote started from scratch, while three quarters of the line items were already somewhere in an earlier file. Retyping them cost more time than the calculation itself.
What we designed and built
A draft that is built up from comparable earlier files, with the source alongside every line item. Plus the agreement on who reviews the draft and who signs it, because a draft is not a quote.
What changed in the work
The estimator no longer starts by filling in but by judging. Reviewing has become the core of the work instead of the last step.
What this has to do with our services
This application comes out of the route we walk on every assignment: first decide which use case is worth it, then design the work, the roles and the decisions around it, and only after that build, test and measure.
